Maternal and Child Care Union (MCCU) was established in year 2000. Head of the Board is George Kamkamidze, MD, Ph.D. MCCU activities are mostly related with prevention, counseling, education and treatment of infectious diseases (HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, viral hepatitis, different infections transmitted from mother-to-child, respiratory infections etc.) and immunological disorders. The main target groups are women of childbearing age, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and their partners, children. MCCU provides HIV and other infectious diseases counseling and education of women individually or for the couples. MCCU is affiliated and operates on the basis of the clinical and laboratory facilities of Medical Center "NeoLab", where diagnostics of different infectious diseases and immunological disorders using advanced laboratory methods (ELISA, PCR, Genotyping, Western Blot) is performed. MCCU is collaborating with "NeoLab" for laboratory diagnostics and clinical management of target groups through different projects.
